Garage door repair in Mississauga

Five things account for most calls: a torsion spring, a cable, the rollers and track, the photo-eye sensors at the bottom of the tracks, and the opener. A spring goes with a bang and the door is suddenly too heavy to lift by hand. A cable comes off its drum and one side of the door drops lower than the other. Knock a sensor out of alignment with a bike or a bin and the door refuses to close, reversing every time. When the opener hums and nothing moves, the gear kit inside it has usually stripped.

Statistics Canada counted 244,575 occupied private dwellings in Mississauga in 2021, and 75,015 of them went up between 1961 and 1980. That single block is bigger than every dwelling built here since 2001. Applewood Acres was the first big planned development after the war, near the QEW and Dixie. Erin Mills was planned in 1968 and Meadowvale in 1969, and most of the city was built out by 2005.

The Pearson Economic Zone covers about 200 square kilometres and is described by the airport authority as the largest employment area in Canada, and industrial vacancy in Mississauga East has been quoted at 0.3 per cent. Buildings that full do not tolerate a dock door being out of service.

A bang followed by a door that will not lift is a spring. A door hanging lower on one side is a cable. A blinking opener light with a door that opens but will not close is the sensors.
