The Trans-Canada is the main street

Jason Gould cut a road from the Ottawa River to Muskrat Lake in 1849 and named the post office after Richard Cobden in 1850. Highway 17 arrived on 1921-06-15, when the province extended it to Pembroke through Renfrew, Cobden and Beachburg, and it has been the village's main street since. The Champlain astrolabe, lost in 1613 and found by a fourteen-year-old named Edward George Lee in 1867, has its monument on the highway just outside the village. The Cobden Fair has run since 1854.

Cobden had 1,071 people in 2021. Whitewater Region, the township formed on 2001-01-01 from Beachburg, Cobden, Ross and Westmeath, had 7,225, up 3.1%. What matters for a door: Cobden is roughly halfway between Renfrew and Pembroke on the road the van is already on. Muskrat Lake's garages open in May

Muskrat Lake is 16 km long, 64 m at its deepest and 1,219 hectares, with more than 300 lakefront properties and two campgrounds around it. It is also one of the nutrient-loaded lakes of the valley: blue-green algae blooms were confirmed three times between 2007 and 2013, and the township posted caution signage again in July 2020. A lake garage here is shut at Thanksgiving and opened in May, and a door that has not moved in five months is asked to move on the first warm weekend. Try it on the first day at the cottage, while there is still a week to book the fix, and note whether it drags, stops partway or does nothing at all.

Of 2,910 occupied dwellings in the township, 2,665 are detached houses and 2,535 are owner-occupied, 92% and 87%. 1,010 were built in 1960 or before. Watersheds Canada, the Muskrat Watershed Council and Algonquin College planted 45,000 native trees and shrubs along the watershed's agricultural stream banks from 2018, which is the plainest statement of what the land around the lake is: farmed. A door on a farm building is quoted as a commercial door, with a commercial opener if it has one, and Protech does that work alongside the house doors.

The 417 to Arnprior, then Highway 17 through Renfrew: two lanes, with the 22.5 km between Arnprior and Renfrew in design for twinning. There is no premises in Cobden. Repair or replace, and the township permit

A spring on a sound door is a repair. A wooden door on a lake garage that has taken thirty springs of meltwater at the sill is a replacement, and a steel door with a rusted bottom section the same. The township needs a permit to "build a garage, porch or balcony" and for any accessory structure over 10 square metres, and exempts a utility shed under that size.
