Garage door opener installation in Mississauga

The Mississauga branch installs LiftMaster, Chamberlain and Genie openers in garages that have never had one and in place of units past repair. The bins stand beside the track

Mississauga's Property Standards By-law says waste containers, on non-collection days, go in the rear yard, the side yard, a garage or a carport, never the front yard, and against a wall, fence or building. An inside row house, with neighbours on both sides, has no side yard, and the 2021 census counted 34,455 row houses here, so for many of them it is the rear yard or the garage. Peel Region's organics bin stands 99 cm tall and 51 cm wide, and its garbage bins reach 119 cm by 69 cm in the large size. They go to the curb by 7 a.m. on collection day and come back in by 8 p.m.

Where the eyes and the button go

LiftMaster's instructions set the photo eyes inside the garage, aimed at each other across the door, with the beam no higher than 15 cm off the floor: wheel height for a bin wheeled past every collection day. The eyes clip to the tracks, or go on the wall framing on brackets where the track side is crowded, and the wire runs back to the head clear of the wheels. The wall button goes 1.5 m or more up and in sight of the door, per the same instructions, above the lids. Say which side the bins stand on when booking. The remotes that came with the house

The 2021 census counted 73,665 Mississauga residents who had lived at another address a year before. A house that changes hands keeps an opener that still answers every remote the previous owners had, and any spare they handed out. For LiftMaster and Chamberlain units, the maker's advice to anyone moving into a new house is to clear the memory: hold the LEARN button until its light goes out, about 6 seconds, and every remote and keypad code it held is erased. A new opener knows none of the old remotes. Either way the visit ends with each remote, the keypad PIN and the app paired to whoever lives there now.

The buttons in the car

The census counted 162,185 Mississauga residents who commuted as drivers in 2021. A car with HomeLink buttons in the visor, mirror or console can learn the opener in place of a remote, and it can be paired on the day with the car outside. Chamberlain brought in its Security+ 2.0 signal in 2010, and some older HomeLink systems cannot speak it. For those, LiftMaster makes a HomeLink Compatibility Bridge that takes the car's signal and converts it to Security+ 2.0, for LiftMaster and Chamberlain Security+ 2.0 openers made after 2011. Note the make and year of each car on the booking, so any car needing the bridge is known before the visit.
