Have this ready when you call

Whether the door is single or double, and roughly how old it is. Then what you can see or hear, which is usually enough to say what the visit will need before anyone arrives.

A bang from the garage followed by a door that will not lift is a spring. A door hanging lower on one side is a cable off its drum. A door binding partway up with a crooked look to it has a roller out of the track. A blinking light on the opener while the door refuses to close points at the photo-eye sensors. A motor that hums while nothing moves is usually a stripped gear kit.

If any of those is what you are looking at, stop using the door and leave the opener alone until somebody has seen it. Running an opener against a broken spring or a derailed door turns a part into a door.

For a new door, there is no rush

Email the door type, the width and height of the opening if you know them, and a photograph of the front of the garage. That is enough to start a conversation, and a measurement on the opening comes before anything is quoted, because headroom and backroom decide which doors will physically fit. Colour and panel style are much easier to settle in front of a real door than on a screen, and you can draw your own before or after the visit.
